Developing Emotional Intelligence










Until not long ago, it was believed that the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) was an indicator of intelligence and that it could be quantified. Thus, people who have high IQs were the ones who occupy important jobs and are paid well.

Over the years, however, the evolution of knowledge found out that IQ only contributes 20% of the factors that determine success in life and even the brightest people can sink into the dangers of uncontrollable emotions and impulses overwhelmed. This is when Emotional Intelligence (EI) comes in.

But what is emotional intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to feel, understand, control and modifies emotional states in one and others. It allows us to become aware of our emotions, both our own and that of others thus we can to tolerate the pressures and frustrations and increase our capacity for empathy and social skills.

EI consists of intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. Intrapersonal intelligence is the ability to form a realistic model of self and be able to use that model to operate effectively in life. The key to self includes access to one’s own feelings, the ability to distinguish and use these emotions to guide behavior as well as the knowledge of our personality and how we think and act against the stimuli of daily life.

Interpersonal intelligence is to have leadership skills, the ability to build relationships, conflict resolution, social skills, understanding others, respond appropriately to mood, motivations and desires of others.

How can it develop?

- Appropriate models are important so that we can imitate, expand the network and cultivate friendships that allow us to develop social skills.
- Integrate groups on any activities that we are interested in. For example, joining theater and sporting groups makes us realize what we can adjust to negative emotions and react positively to anything.
- Living in the present. Focus on the tasks so that our negative thoughts will not distract us from our goals.
- Describe positive qualities enables us to increase self-esteem.
- Set goals and make sure that they are tangible. Self-assess your behavior and modify those that are useful to you.

What are the benefits of development? Why was it necessary to develop?

The benefits of development include being easily motivated to do things, control impulse, delay gratification, regulate the sense of humor, and to show empathy.
Eventually, this leads to the improvement of life. Moreover, it also helps people prevent addiction, depression, anxiety, phobias, aggressiveness, lack of sense of life, low self-esteem.

In fact, a person who has developed his EI is a healthy and balanced thus learning to manage our emotions help us make assertive decisions at appropriate times.

Can anyone develop it?

The thing here is that anyone can have emotional intelligence. It is intrinsic to any person from the moment that they are born. Luckily, there are a lot of innovative techniques that allow easy development of emotional intelligence.

If you do a little effort every day, it is more effective that a one-time effort. Some people who is paralyzed by the fear of failure, but again, stays paralyzed guarantees failure. If you get into action one cannot make things go well always, but the worst will be better than staying at a standstill.

It is very clear that consistency is the basis of achieving any goal, but despite that, we take out costs. That most of the time is because we set plans to get it, but circumstances do not go with us and even that it is difficult to accomplish.
Therefore provide realistic action plans for you and even involve pleasure activities. Of course always try to do a bit more, but not push yourself too hard because it is always preferable to do little day by day than doing everything at once.

Be firm but not inflexible

Be firm in your actions, it is very important in getting any of your purposes. Be clear about what you do and why you do it. It sometimes happens that this firmness is confused with inflexibility. If you see that things do not have the desired outcome or lose heart and withdraw, or with the thought of what you start is completed, we continue to insist on something that perhaps only a small adjustment can dramatically change the final result.

You know, like the rudder of a boat, a small adjustment at the beginning of the journey changes the course dramatically. And the more distant is our goal, that little rudder movement produces a greater change in the final destination.

Aroma Therapy For The Treatment Of Anxiety

Thus, it is important to know the different oil blends that you can use for aromatherapy. The following is a list of essential oil blends that can help relieve your fears as well as your phobias:

First Fear Relief Blend 1: This mix is ideal for patients who suffer fatigue and depression. For this blend, mix 3 drops of grapefruit oil and 2 drops of bergamot.
